Nordklinge knives combine tradition with modernity. The knives are hand-forged by a master artisan in Finland and sharpened and finished in Germany, near Fulda. Here, Finnish craftsmanship meets German perfection.
The characteristic black forging skin is created during the rolling process. Unlike stainless steel, carbon steel oxidizes under the influence of water and acids, developing a patina over time. A sign of high quality. The used look is intentional and gives your knife a personal touch.
All Nordklinge knives are made from Uddeholm STR carbon steel with an HRC of 58. Carbon steel is highly prized in Japanese knifemaking, as it gives the blade a fine, long-lasting sharpness. The handle is made from the very rare Karelian curly birch, which is particularly durable and robust. This makes each knife unique.
