A fresh piece of wasabi root has a very neutral flavor; only with the right grater and perfect technique can the delicious, aromatic wasabi paste be created. The distinctive aroma arises from the cells being destroyed when the wasabi is rubbed against the sharkskin. The Pakin brush is particularly suitable for gently removing fresh wasabi from the grater.
